well, it’s april 22nd and that means it’s earth day. or dirt day. or “let’s all be pansies and protect the earth day.”
i don’t hate the earth. i love this big ole rock. but i’m not going to make my life miserable trying to prevent something that isn’t going to happen.
well, i don’t know what to say because i’m all spent out. i have to work for a living.
today is march 25th. as i came home from work for the day i opened up the web browser on my fiance’s computer. her homepage is set to CNN and the headline says “Massive Ice Shelf on Verge of Breakup” (http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/science/03/25/antarctic.ice/index.html)
in the first paragraph of the article it mentions the breakup due to global warming.
“Some 220 square miles of ice has collapsed in Antarctica and an ice shelf about the size of Connecticut is “hanging by a thread,” the British Antarctic Survey said Tuesday, blaming global warming.”
global warming would cause this. hum, well, i suppose that could be true… if global warming was actually real.
so i dug around some more on CNN’s website and find another site they have called “Planet in Peril“. when i went to the site the first thing that i saw said by 2050 the world population would reach 9 billion people which would threaten survival and lack of fresh clean water.
what disturbs the most is the poll at the bottom of the site which asks what do you think is the greatest threat to the planet. global warming had 27% of the votes but overpopulation got 62% of the vote (based on 9783 votes). you mean to tell me that the fact that i’m alive is a threat to the environment?
when did we all start caring more about the environment more than we care about ourselves?
it shows me that overpopulation won’t be a problem if this is the case because the stupid won’t survive.
well, sorta. due to booming business in the IT field (more on this later) i’ve been unable to tell you about the wonderful goodness of destroying the world.
for those of you who don’t know this… i live in “spotted al bore’s” (al gore) hometown of Carthage, TN. not that this has much to do with global warming other than the fact that i’m sick and tired of hearing everyone sing his praise. (side note also… just incase you ever happen to read “an inconvient book”… maybe because you want to commit suicide and need a reason to end life… you can see a part of my building in a picture there. kinda neat.)
but, back to albert. so i’m so tired of hearing everyone say “ooooooo al gore lives here. al gore got a nobel prize. al gore was the vice president. al gore invented the internet. al gore. blah. blah. blah”.
look… the only truthful statement in that whole spill was that he was the vice president… while hillary was president. al gore doesn’t live here. he has a little house next to his parents. he didn’t really get the nobel prize.. all of the other losers who helped make global warming “true” did. and if you think al gore invented the internet… well… don’t even let me know that you think that.
oh yeah. al gore won an oscar. but not really. the others won it for him. but the stream of lies that he and everyone else puts out about global warming absolutely makes me want to explode.
so back to my whole IT thing. i’m really proud to be in my field because i was reading something the other day that said more money was spent on energy for IT equipment (servers, switches, computers and air conditioning) than has ever been spent before. i can’t remember the exact figures but it was like well into $50 billion dollars spent on energy. you know… the energy that comes from COAL.
so i sit here, writing to you from my big energy sucking building… with every light on, my natural gas heat (OH NO!) blasting to about 75… my natural gas logs (OH NO OH NO!) turned up as high as i can get it… my servers running like crazy, my computers running… oh and did i mention my apartment. yeah. the heat is on there, too. but it’s my god given right to burn up as much energy as i please. i pay the bills. i make the money. if i want to run my logs in the middle of summer and turn my AC unit down to 65 to compensate, then i can.
but i can’t stand it when people tell me that i should conserve energy. the only reason i would do that is because i got tired of spending $300/month on utility bills. shoot, my familiy used to spend $10,000/month on electricty at the store they owned. think i care?!
so carbon onsets is back and it’s going to be an awesome ride. my goal is to be mentioned on some nationally known show (radio or tv) either good or bad. i just want everyone to know that there is another side to this thing we call “global warming”.
hopefully that wasn’t too painful to read. maybe i should buy a book on how to write?

you’ll be glad to know that i’ve bought plenty more gas for my SUV, ran natural gas heat, etc. etc. even better… i’ve just built a big honking power-hungry server for my website. mmmmmm… quad-core xeon processor, terrabyte of space, 4gb of ram, 650watt power supply, etc. it’s nice.
anyway… that’s it.
i put evil $3.04/gallon gas in my evil SUV. mwhaha.
on top of that i was sure to run the heat (natural gas of course) in both of my buildings.
let’s see what else did i do… oh… i let my computer run solid (it was drawing electricity the whole time!). then i left some lights on and ummm… the tv stayed on.
so you can see… i’ve done all i can do to make sure that i did my part to kill the environment.

are you tired of hearing all the bull spilling out of people’s mouth about how the earth is going to come to a firey and miserable end due to your SUV, light bulbs or just breathing in general? well, you aren’t alone because i am too.
but nothing makes me more ill than “Carbon Offsets”. what are carbon offsets you might ask? i’ll tell you. it amounts to this: you pay a carbon offset company x-amount of dollars for your carbon footprint (this would be driving your car, breathing, etc.). the money then in turn goes to the companies pocket. oh sure… they take 5% and actually plant a tree or re-invest it in “green companies”. it amazes me because apparently al gore has spent a ton of money on these offsets. that’s great considering the man who shouts the most about being green is a bigger polluter than i ever thought about being.
i’m sure heating and cooling a 20,000sq foot mansion, heating and cooling his home (and possibly parent’s) in my home town (carthage, tn), flying in private jets, etc. etc. is kinda like the pot calling the kettle black.
anyway… this website is so that you can pay me to pollute the earth more. it’s simple. you give me a dollar and i’ll be sure to drive my SUV more, overly heat and cool my drafty building, exhale more, etc. etc.
so… keep up with this site and learn how everything is going.
